John Gillott
John has worked in the field of acoustics for over 30 years. Starting in the building services sector and industrial noise control, he maintains a keen interest in the field of mechanical plant noise control and associated problem solving.
John is experienced in the modelling and calculation of noise from mechanical plant, infrastructure and delivery servicing related noise using both proprietary noise-mapping software and other in-house acoustic assessment methodology. He has extensive experience in projects including single and multi-family residences, commercial buildings, restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, water treatment works, power plants, generator sets, high end retail outlets, industrial premises, commissioning, noise investigation and engineering solutions of mechanical plant noise problems. John can work on projects from planning stage to final commissioning. John is a Member of the Institute of Acoustics and is a registered ANC tester involved in sound testing in England and Wales. |
Patrick Shortt
Patrick has worked in the field of acoustics for nearly 30 years. The first 10 years were spent in the Environmental Health department of a London Borough working on a variety of issues including assessment of new road schemes and large infrastructure projects including Heathrow Terminal 5, Heathrow Express Rail Link and Crossrail.
For the past 20 years, he has been working in private consultancy practice and specialises in acoustics of the built environment particularly residential, commercial, leisure and entertainment uses. He has extensive experience of environmental noise and vibration assessment, transportation, industrial noise, land planning issues and has a particular interest in the prediction of sound transmission in residential buildings. Patrick sits on the Association of Noise Consultants Certification Committee, Good Practice Committee and is also on BSI Committee EH/1/3 that covers residential and industrial noise. He holds membership of the Institute of Acoustics and the Acoustical Society of America and is a registered ANC tester involved in sound testing in England and Wales. |
